Michele Corsini: Executive Director, Product Strategy at Comcast

What do you love most about your job?

Over the years, I have I have worn many “hats” throughout my career, mainly centered around the common theme of implementing data products and solutions. I have worked in business intelligence, financial planning, software architecture, and many other departments, all leading me to my current role in Product Management. When I reflect on these experiences, the common thread throughout my life has been my passion for people. Having the ability to work with, mentor, and learn from people with such diverse backgrounds in this data-centric organization is what drives me. In addition to my love of the people I work with, I am driven by my appetite to leverage data to streamline business processes and deliver enterprise-scale programs, all in service of fulfilling business objectives with technology solutions. I have been responsible for the data product delivery experience, with both executive-level stakeholders and quality information technology professionals across an array of products, data pipelines, services, and technology stacks. I could not be more excited to help drive forward our company’s strategic objectives with data while protecting customer privacy and working with the best of the best in this field. My previous experiences have enabled me to enhance my domain knowledge, build relationships, and collaborate with a variety of teams in Comcast Corporate, Division, and Regional offices- both the business and technology units, alike. I have been fortunate to work with some fantastic people and make some forever friendships over the years.

How have other women helped shape your career?

My mother has been a significant influence in my life and has been my inspiration for where I am today. She was a pioneer in her field in the ‘80s and ‘90s, leading Crime Scene Investigation for the Philadelphia Police department, a very male-dominated field at the time. However, this did not deter her; if anything, it made her more determined and caused her to go above and beyond. She led budget, funding, and grants for her department got FBI specialized training on new technologies and advancements in crime scene collection. Her being a full-time career woman, navigating difficult shift work schedules and being a mother of three children, has empowered me to this day.

Outside of work, what’s something you’re passionate about?

I am passionate about real estate. I have had the opportunity to explore the real estate market in the United States and beyond. Most recently, my family and I moved to Florida where we could enjoy some sunshine and life near the water. I am also enthusiastic about traveling and my family and I have fallen in love with Costa Rica. The island has amazing beaches, water falls, hiking, and culture. The people are so friendly and welcoming, too! I’ve also been to Italy and would love to go back sometime soon.

What do you value most about your membership with The WICT Network?

The WICT Network has been pivotal to my life at Comcast and beyond. As you know, The WICT Network has been such a highly visible organization within Comcast. My favorite aspect of the organization is the community itself. I truly feel that we are a welcoming group of women and a safe space to share our experiences not only in the workplace, but with regard to our lives outside the office, too. I most recently attended the Tech It Out event in Philadelphia, where I had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet many new ones in the community as well. I was moved by the women who shared their experiences working in the technology field and learned so much from the presenters and the discussions. Our community is something special and is certainly a powerhouse of women. I look forward to continuing my involvement with the organization and meeting more of you in the future! The WICT Network also offers incredible opportunities for us all to grow and learn together. With the safe space that is WICT, as well as the numerous events we offer, we have the ability to develop our skills together. I really appreciate the many panels, networking events, conferences, mentoring programs, webinars, and more that enable us to connect and grow together. We hold each other accountable, give each other feedback to fuel our ongoing development, and learn from each other’s successes and struggles, and give back to one another and the community.
