Board Member Spotlight: Kaitlin Santanna

Meet Kaitlin, Manager, User Experience Design and Research, Comcast

What do you love most about your job?

I love that a major part of my job is to listen to our customers about what they want out of their Xfinity services and make changes to our products that reflect those wants and needs. Often in the corporate world we get stuck brainstorming and discussing ideas in a meeting room, but hearing directly from our customers is a great reminder of why we do the work we do. I also get to work with an amazing group of people who are passionate about their job, and it’s truly a joy to get to collaborate with them every day.

How have other women helped shape your career?

While there have been small strides over the years, I work in a male-dominated field that makes me notice and value career relationships with other women that much more. A few years ago I saw a DEI report from Comcast that women only make up 37.1% percent of the company’s workforce. That number seemed too low to me, and it influenced my career path into leadership. I look to the strong women leaders in my past and present for examples of how to become a more inspirational and successful leader.

Since having my daughter last February I also look to fellow mothers and caregivers to see how they balance work and personal life. I’m still learning and it’s an unending balancing act, but thankfully I have solid examples around me to demonstrate when to lean into my career and when to prioritize my family time (some of whom I’ve met though the WICT network!).

Outside of work, what’s something you are passionate about?

Two things I’m passionate about are often on the TV in my household: sports and food. I grew up in a minor league hockey town (Hershey, Pa), and hockey is my number one sports love. I also attended undergraduate school at Villanova and graduate school at Syracuse, so I follow those college sports too. I also love cooking as well as eating, and I use some of my free time exploring making new recipes and visiting breweries and restaurants in Philadelphia.

What do you value most about your membership with The WICT Network?

I value being a part of a group of strong women who share a passion for developing women leaders who will transform the industry. The programming that the Greater Philadelphia chapter puts on relates to where I am in my career, and I gained such value from being a mentee in the mentoring program in 2023. Being a board member for 2025 has been a joy to see the behind-the-scenes action of putting these events together, and being a part of a group with such talented and motivated women is an inspiration!
