What do you love most about your job?
I love the people that I work with.I work with people who I not only learn a lot from, but who also genuinely put a smile on my face each day.I enjoy my day-to-day work, but I also enjoy the ad-hoc requests that allow me to think of ways to support the team and broader organization.
What are the biggest obstacles you see for young women in the media, entertainment and/or technology industries?
I think that there is still a lack of representation of women in leadership roles at many companies. As a result, I think that women do and will encounter gender bias and lack of leadership and growth opportunities. This could discourage young women to be their authentic selves and feel empowered to own their careers. Having a network of peers and mentors (like The WICT Network!) is so important to help make change and encourage young women to feel empowered in their professional careers.
What do you value most about your membership with The WICT Network?
My membership in The WICT Network has provided me with an incredible community of amazing women and men. I have met so many new people through this network who I know I can turn to for support, career advice or an introduction. The programming provides me with an opportunity to connect with others virtually and in person, while helping to shape my personal and career growth.
